Media Cottage to produce Video Tape series and Interactive CD ROM for Technology Staff Development
September, 1997: The Texas Education Agency has awarded a joint grant to Gladewater County Line Independent School District and Lufkin Independent School District for production of training materials to be used for Technology Staff Development.

Media Cottage has been selected to produce the series which will be distributed to school districts throughout Texas. The complete and integrated package will consist of six video tapes and an interactive CD-ROM.

With an overall theme of "Wired for Learning", Individual tapes in the series will address the acquisition, implementation, and management of various educatiowired logonal technologies. Specific information and guidance will be provided in the programs for both administrative and staff personnel.

A key production in the series will be
"Taking the Hocus-Pocus out of Telecommunications", a program designed to make various distance learning technology and transmission options understandable to even the most technically uninitiated.

The interactive CD-ROM will be a hyper-linked compilation of all materials in the series and will provide easy access, review and printing of the various topics covered in the series. The CD-ROM will also feature movie and audio clips, textual and graphic information, and a searchable glossary of educational technology terms. Links to related educational web sites will also be provided.

The program series will be produced at state-of-the-art production facilities in the companies' Wimberley, Texas headquarters under the direction of Robert Currie and Salwa Khan.
